It'll take both private and public enterprises to combat climate change. The three "R's" (Recycle, Reuse, and Reduce) used to be put on the consumer and progress was so slow. Most people would be happy to do it, but the processes were so bad and the products assorted weren't friendly to the three R's so consumers got lazy.
I've worked for CPG and manufacturing companies for a over a decade. In the past few years, there's been a huge shift from companies to help put emphasis on the three Rs from a sourcing and manufactueringside instead of relying on consumers to practice sustainability.
Consumers, especially younger ones, are looking for more sustainable options when it comes to products and packaging. Although it's encouraging, time is against us...
I hope the consumer shift will speed up in the near future...which in turn, will speed up innovation for sustainability from companies.
